Simcenter Micred Power Tester
Combined evaluation of active power and thermal structure
The Simcenter Micred Power Tester hardware for active power cycling offers the industry’s unique ability to combine active power cycling with transient thermal characterization and thermal structure analysis. The unique, non-destructive evaluation of the structural functions is carried out in a fully automated test program that does not require any removal of the device and provides a complete electrical and structural analysis of the device.
Modules can go through tens of thousands – potentially millions – of cycles while providing real-time diagnostics of impending failures. As a result, the test and diagnosis time is considerably reduced, and post-mortem or destructive error analyzes are no longer necessary. A variety of feed-in strategies simulate realistic operating conditions.
Various configurations are available that provide up to 3600 A and can measure up to 16 devices simultaneously. The solutions include integral cooling plates or, alternatively, support external cooling solutions that are suitable for modules with direct liquid cooling, such as those used in electrical drive trains in vehicle construction. Integral safety functions support use in manufacturing environments.
